OUR STORY

In the 1980’s, Company President and Entrepreneur, John Edwards commenced his career in the printing industry brokering labels.  After some years of selling labels, John capitalized on an opportunity to begin manufacturing them for his clients and as a result Edwards Label was born in the spring of 1985.

 

The early years were humble beginnings as Edwards Label idealized the classic “Mom and Pop” print shop, working out of a small warehouse in Los Angeles.    From the start, John knew that the future of Edwards lay in the quality of the employees he hired as great employees make a company great.  Hence, when Joel Avila, the current CEO of Edwards, joined the team in 1998 his printing expertise and leadership added considerable strength to the success of the company.

 

In 2001, our current building in Ventura was completed and the company moved from the hustle and bustle of LA to the relaxed beach town suburb.  Since 2001 the company has been steadily growing, although it is no longer the mom n pop shop it once was, there is still that personal touch that we seek to maintain because our employees are what make our company great and keep our customers happy and satisfied.

 

As a company we are proactive about staying on the cutting edge.  To do that we have invented and patented certain label products as well as invested in new technologies such as equipment for running codes and variable data as well as a digital press.  In addition to these investments the company in 2012 strategically expanded into the Chicago area with a manufacturing facility in Skokie, IL, which has allowed us to cut our lead times for shipments to the east coast.

 

As you can see we are a dynamic and progressive label company that aspires to make labels that solve impossible problems and market products in ways that no one else can.
