Founder John Edwards shares his vision and outlook on the company
Edwards Label is all about the people who we hire. The Vision is to be thought of as a Company that helps our customers solve their problems. We are about solutions. When a customer has a label application that requires creative engineering we are the Company to go to. Our research and development department is 2nd to none. We have worked for many multinational firms with the common thread being that we make extra room on our customer’s packages. This theme carries over to a number of different functions. The additional room can be used for promotion, instructions and multi-language information, to name a few.
Edwards is about Education. We practice what we preach and on a daily basis provide our team the most advanced training. To promote our own business we reach out to our customers, sharing with them how our ideas can increase their sales.
Edwards believes in a global market. We are taking creative label solutions and sharing them around the world. We constantly better our communication with our three facilities so our customers have the ability to take their winning strategies from one market to the next. Because we have plants in three different Countries, we produce specialty products effectively to all the Americas. It is not easy making the transition from Country to Country and we work hard at developing state of the art communications and we continue to implement good manufacturing practices.
It always comes back to having really good people who like where they work. Edwards strives for a great environment for our people. We like to see our people advance. The CEO of the Company is a former pressman and as a group we are a hard working bunch.
The area of growth for us will be the Pharmaceutical market and the Company has spent millions of dollars to put us in a position where we can provide seamless manufacturing with complete accountability. Look to see us inventing new solutions and please remember we are printers by nature and marketers by design.
Commitment to service is a commitment to training. Edwards Label conducts training on a daily basis. It starts with our sales people who are the first impression our clients get and ends with the guy who cleans the floors. Not only do we train everyday but also we audit the employees on a daily basis to insure that the lessons are sinking in. When an employee has an efficient idea, management is all ears. Once the guy doing the job tells us how they want to do it the step is procedural zed. The trick now is to do it the same way every time.
To help the Company run smoother Edwards has spent hundreds of thousands of dollars developing an operating system that every person in the Company uses. All presses are linked together and we are able to follow an order in our system from the quote to the packing slip. The program is a work in progress and is always being upgraded. The upside has been customers getting quotes and orders fulfilled faster, not to mention speedier sales.
Customer service is an area that Edwards has on the top of our list. First we make sure our employees are happy but a very near second is our commitment to the customer service department. An Edwards CSR has needed information for every step at their fingertips. They are trained in Flexography, Offset and silk screening. We take special time to make sure our people understand every step because Edwards makes everything in house. We do not count on other Companies to convert our products. When customers have questions, we will get them the answers.
